Why Thrivedom exists

Origin story

Our founder was lucky to attend the BTS Arirang World Tour in London! On the second night, Yoongi told ARMY he'd come to London a day early to see Metallica. He was impressed that they'd been touring for 45 years. Since BTS had been together for 13, he asked: would you stay with us for the next 32?

The answer was a wholehearted yes, echoing loudly through the stadium.

The second half of that took longer to work out. She experienced the heat wave in London and Munich, and intense heat at other stops. Saying yes to 32 more years that would contribute significantly to carbon emissions and warming prompted action.

Thrivedom exists in answer to Yoongi's question. We aren't here to tell you not to go. We're here to support both the wholehearted yes and the responsibility for our choices.

Hilary at the BTS Arirang World Tour in LondonArirang World Tour, London

Over years of working in tech, Hilary came to value her joy. She's a longstanding SF Ballet subscriber, and attended 26 performances in 2026. She regularly goes to New York for packed trips of musicals, plays, and ballet. She's attended Burning Man since 2018, and now serves as a Temple Guardian. And since 2024, BTS. The Arirang tour was her first opportunity to see all 7 members together, and the joy of watching them play off each other and off ARMY, amplified throughout the stadium, pulled her toward seeing as many shows as possible. She'll have seen sixteen shows by the time the tour leaves LA. When real joy is worth reaching for, she reaches for it.

Early in her career, she found her way into climate work at WiserEarth and Clean Tech Open, right in the middle of the original Clean Tech wave. Then at two startups, Sociable Labs and TaskRabbit, she learned firsthand about iterating and finding product-market fit, before a decade at growth stage, across Uber and Cash App. She was the first Android engineer on Uber Eats, and later led teams at Cash App building the systems that keep people's money and identity safe. After the Uber tender offer, she put her own capital into the world she wants to exist, starting with Climate, small checks, steadily over time. She's also offset her own carbon footprint, travel included, since 2020. This year she came back to Climate work directly, as a Climatebase fellow.

Thrivedom is what happens when those threads meet: a person who gathers joyfully, and a person who builds carefully.
